Henry R. Broaddus is President of Church Schools in the Diocese of Virginia (CSDV), a nonprofit corporation that owns and operates six Episcopal schools serving more than 3,500 students from age 3 to grade 12.
In his role, Broaddus works closely with the heads of the schools, the schools’ Boards of Governors, and CSDV’s Board of Trustees to provide leadership on strategic matters. He serves as an ex officio trustee of CSDV and an ex officio governor on each of the six schools’ boards. He also serves as a liaison to the Episcopal Diocese of Virginia, which founded the corporation in 1919.
Prior to becoming president of CSDV in 2022, Broaddus worked for 21 years at William & Mary, including 10 as the university’s Dean of Admission and concluding with 8 as Vice President for Strategic Initiatives and Public Affairs.
He and his family reside in Williamsburg, where he annually serves as master of ceremonies for Dancing with the Williamsburg Stars, a benefit for Big Brothers Big Sisters and Literacy for Life.
He holds a bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College.
Jack H. (“Chip”) Broadway, Jr., is Vice President and Treasurer of Church Schools in the Diocese of Virginia.
Broadway’s role positions him as the chief financial officer for CSDV. In this role, he advises business officers at each school in managing cash flow through the cycles of an academic year and in enhancing risk protection.
He also helps the CSDV Board of Trustees analyze the economic forecast at each institution through the year, drawing from on-campus enrollment and philanthropy outcomes and macro- and microeconomic trends.
A Certified Public Accountant and Chartered Global Management Accountant, Broadway has devoted much of his career to education. He was with Prince William County Public Schools and Collegiate School in Richmond before joining CSDV in 1999.
Broadway’s numerous volunteer contributions include serving as a past Board Chair of the Virginia Council for Private Education and a past member of the Client Council for Church Pension Group, which provides employee benefits to a wide range of Episcopal organizations.
He holds a bachelor’s degree from James Madison University and an MBA from the University of Richmond.
Lea H. McCormick is Corporate Secretary and Assistant Treasurer of Church Schools in the Diocese of Virginia.
McCormick personally handles many of the corporation’s operations, including managing benefit offerings for CSDV’s 900 employees at the member schools. She gathers and submits documentation that keeps the institutions compliant with all pertinent requirements, and she works closely with the CSDV Board of Trustees to facilitate in-person and virtual meetings.
She joined CSDV in 2022 after 14 years at St. Catherine’s School in Richmond, where she concluded her tenure as Director of Human Resources.
She holds a bachelor’s degree from Georgia Southwestern State University and an MBA from Walden University.
